In ZF6HP19/26/32 (Gen. 1) and Ford 6R60, 6R80, 6R100 units, the oversized converter release regulator valve provides lube pressure regulation and contributes to the timing of the converter clutch apply/release action. Significant bore wear can allow release or apply pressures to leak to sump, which results in converter clutch slippage and related codes. This can affect lockup clutch apply and release timing and feel.
