Return Policy


Applicability:
This policy applies to all orders shipped within the continental United States. International orders are not covered by this return policy; international customers should contact SunCoast for special arrangements.

 

PRODUCT RETURNS

  • RMA Required: All returns must be authorized by SunCoast Performance. Contact customer service to request a Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA) number before shipping any items back. Returns sent without an RMA will be refused or returned at the sender’s expense.

  • Time Window: Returned items must be shipped back to us within 30 days of the original invoice date. Merchandise received after 30 days may be subject to a late-processing fee or may not qualify for a refund, depending on condition and timing.

  • Condition: Products must be unused, uninstalled, and in like-new condition with all original packaging, tags, accessories, manuals, and documentation. The item must be complete and in saleable condition.

  • Restocking Fees: Returns for reasons other than SunCoast’s error (e.g. wrong item sent or an acknowledged manufacturing defect) may incur a restocking fee. The fee will be a percentage of the item’s price (typically up to ~20%) and will be deducted from your refund. The exact restocking fee (if any) will be communicated when the RMA is issued. Special-order, built-to-order, or custom products are not eligible for return or refund.

  • Refunds: Once the return is received and inspected, refunds (less any restocking or other fees) will be issued to the original payment method. Shipping charges, taxes, and core charges (if applicable) are refunded only if the return is due to an error on our part. Original shipping costs and any expedited shipping fees are not refunded.

 

CORE RETURNS

  • Core Charge: Many SunCoast assemblies (transmissions, converters, etc.) include a refundable core deposit. To receive the core credit, you must return the original core that matches the part number of the item you purchased.

  • Qualification: Cores must be complete units in rebuildable condition. This means all factory parts must be present, the core must be clean (drained of fluids) and able to rotate freely, and it must not be internally damaged beyond normal wear. Disassembly, stripped parts, or damage from abuse will disqualify the core.

  • Packaging: Securely package the core in its original shipping container (or similarly sturdy packaging) with all bolts/fasteners. Include your RMA number clearly on the outside of the box.

  • Timeframe: Return the core within 45 days of your purchase to receive full credit of the core deposit. Cores returned after 45 days (up to one year) may receive partial credit or may not qualify for a refund, depending on condition and the elapsed time.

  • Refund Process: Once we receive and inspect the core, any eligible credit will be refunded to your original payment method (or applied to a store credit if requested). Inspections typically take a few business days, and refunds are processed promptly after core approval. Please allow up to 20 business days to process.

 

DEFECTIVE PART RETURNS

  • Warranty vs. Return: SunCoast Performance products are backed by a comprehensive warranty for defects in materials or workmanship. If you believe a part is defective, do not attempt to install or use it. Instead, contact SunCoast immediately to begin a warranty claim.

  • RMA for Defects: Even for defective items, an RMA is required. After obtaining an RMA, return the part to SunCoast for evaluation. Include a copy of your original invoice, a description of the problem, and any supporting service records or diagnostic information.

  • Shipping: Ship the defective item to us (customer pays return shipping unless otherwise authorized). Pack it securely in the original packaging whenever possible and mark the RMA number on the label.

  • Resolution: Returned parts will be inspected by our technical team. If a defect covered by our warranty is confirmed, SunCoast will repair or replace the item at no cost for parts. (Labor, installation, and shipping costs are not covered by the limited warranty.) If the part is found not to be defective or the defect is due to misuse, the item may be returned to you at your cost, and normal return policies/fees will apply.

 

EXCLUSIONS & SPECIAL CONDITIONS

  • Non-Returnable Items: The following are not eligible for return or refund under any circumstances:

    • Special-order, custom-built, or one-off products (e.g. products built to customer spec).

    • Used, installed, or modified parts.

    • Opened electronic items (e.g. control modules, sensors and solenoids) once removed from sealed packaging.

    • Sale or clearance items specifically marked as non-returnable.

  • International Orders: SunCoast’s standard return policy only applies to orders shipped within the USA. International orders or shipments outside the U.S. are final sale, unless otherwise arranged in writing before purchase. International customers should contact SunCoast prior to ordering for any special return arrangements.

  • Shipping Damage: If an item is damaged in transit, refuse the package and contact SunCoast immediately so we can arrange a prompt replacement. If damage is discovered after opening, contact us to file a claim with the carrier.

 

WARRANTY & CREDITS

This return policy covers refunds and exchanges for standard returns and core credits. Separately, SunCoast’s warranty program covers defective parts and assemblies. Our warranty provides repair or replacement of qualifying defective components (see our Warranty Policy for details). Warranty claims are handled via the RMA process described above.

How to Obtain an RMA: Contact SunCoast Performance before returning any product or core. Email info@suncoastconverters.com or call 1-800-868-0053 (option for Returns/Cores) to request an RMA. Have your order invoice and part information available. Our team will issue an RMA number and provide any special instructions for your return.
