When horsepower and load increase, the factory overdrive planetary becomes a known weak point in early 5R110 transmissions. Exploding planetaries and spline failure are common results of extreme use. This 4-pinion overdrive planetary housing is engineered to eliminate those failures and deliver the reliability demanded in high horsepower applications.

Designed specifically for early 5R110 units using the 94-tooth overdrive ring gear, this assembly is manufactured from 4140 HTSR billet steel for exceptional strength, durability, and resistance to fatigue under heavy load. The 4-pinion configuration distributes load more evenly across the gearset, significantly improving torque capacity and long-term reliability. Installation is straightforward and builder-friendly. An included assembly pin simplifies needle bearing installation, and pinion staking pins are supplied to ensure secure retention. No welding is required to retain the pinion pins, reducing the risk of heat distortion and ensuring consistent, repeatable results during assembly.
