In Chrysler 45/545/65/66 and '18-earlier 68RFE transmissions, various converter concerns result from the OE design of the TCC regulator valve. There is minimal valve-to-bore sealing at the line pressure to converter feed circuit, which allows critical apply fluid to leak past the valve spool and directly to exhaust/sump. Typical cores show low vacuum at this critical TCC apply circuit and confirms the issue of poor valve to bore sealing.
Sonnax enhanced drop-in TCC regulator valve kit 44912-11K incorporates an extended spool for additional sealing support at the critical interface between the line pressure circuit and the TCC apply circuit.
