The Coan Racing COA‑11148 Instant Reaction Shorty 18″ Transmission is a purpose-built powerhouse crafted for high-stress drag and circle-track applications where quick launch response and compact packaging are essential. This 18-inch bolt-in unit is built around a rugged steel hub and a high-strength 300M alloy input shaft with TH splines, ensuring reliable performance under intense torque loads.

Driven by Coan’s “Extreme Duty” planetary gearset and equipped with eight clutches, the transmission delivers firm, consistent engagement and outstanding torque capacity. A billet servo provides precise hydraulic control, while the fabricated deep aluminum pan enhances fluid capacity and cooling under prolonged stress. The inclusion of a Pro Tree-style brake valve body allows racers to execute lightning-fast, transbrake-style launches.
